KALMAID is recommended for use in animals that tend to be anxious or nervous.
KALMAID contains L- Tryptophan, an essential amino acid which affects production of serotonin. Serotonin is a hormone naturally produced by the body that has a calming and relaxing effect. KalmAid also contains L-theanine, another amino acid which also has a calming effect, and Thiamine (Vitamin B1). Thiamine deficiency has been associated with nervous disorders.
Situations in which KalmAid can help:
- Anxious situations
- Separation anxiety
- Strange surroundings – e.g. kennels, cattery or minders
- At weaning – when puppies are separated from their mothers
- Environmental stress – e.g. lightning, fireworks
- Travelling
- Grooming
- Behavioural problems
- Unwanted or unruly behaviour (longer term management)
- Going to the vet
- Changes in household

For short term use, give 1-2 hours before ‘anxious event’. Intake can be increased if required for individual cases
For long term management of behavioural problems, give half the above amount daily.
Reduce the amount given with improvement and repeat for flare ups.

It is ideal to instigate a behavioural modification training plan in conjunction with calming supplements, and your vet or animal behaviour specialist will be best placed to help you work out the best plan for your pet.
