James Wellbeloved Adult Cat Light Fish & Rice is formulated to meet the needs of the adult cat which is overweight, or is prone to weight gain. It contains 15% fewer calories than the standard adult food and has higher levels of dietary fibre to help the cat feel fuller with a lower calorie intake. A higher protein level increases the likelihood that any weight loss will be loss of fatty tissue rather than muscle tissue.

This is a complete hypoallergenic dry food. With selected protein source (fish), it is a dietetic food, excellent for the reduction of ingredient and nutrient intolerences. In cases of food intolerance, James Wellbeloved suggest that the food is tried for a period of 3 to 8 weeks, or as recommended by your veterinary surgeon. If the signs of the food intolerance disappear, continue feeding indefinitely.

Feeding Guide for Cats that are Overweight

If you think your cat is overweight, you should speak to your vet before starting a weight reduction programme. Too rapid a loss can be dangerous for your cat so it is important to  weigh your cat regularly to ensure that weekly weight loss is no higher than the maximum given in the table below.  Our feeding guide is worked out for the average cat of the weight shown but your cat could differ substantially from average – requirements vary considerably between cats of the same weight.  The predicted weight loss is based on a 15% reduction in calorie intake from the level necessary to maintain current weight. If your cat fails to lose weight, you should consult a vet. For further information read more here.
