What is SPECIFIC Canine Special Care Digestive Support dry food?

SPECIFIC Digestive Support is a complete and balanced dry food for dogs have digestive issues. The highly digestible ingredients, combined with additional vitamins and minerals ensure that, even with their digestive upset, your dog gets all the nutrients they need.

This diet contains high content of minerals and fat-soluble vitamins to compensate for the reduced absorption during periods of digestive upset. This is combined with the easy to digest ingredients to maximise nutrient absorption.

SPECIFIC Digestive Support also contains MOS (mannan-oligo-saccharides) that bind to the problematic gut bacteria, preventing them from attaching to the intestinal wall. The added Zeolite absorbs toxic components in the gut, supporting gut health, whilst Beta-glucans from yeast support the immune system and help fight gut bacteria.

SPECIFIC also add Yucca into their dry foods to help minimise stool odour and to help reduce unpleasant gasses.

What is in SPECIFIC Canine Special Care Digestive Support dry food?

Ingredients:

Rice, dried egg products, fish meal, maize starch, minerals (including zeolite), dextrose, pork fat, hydrolysed poultry protein, vitamins and trace elements, fish oil, psyllium husk, yeast (source of -1,3/1,6-glucans and mannan-oligo-saccharides), powdered cellulose, beet pulp, methionine, fructo-oligo-saccharides, Yucca extract.

Antioxidants:

EC approved additives: BHA, BHT, propyl gallate.

Contains no artificial colours or flavourings.

Weight check: Get your dog's body condition checked and weighed.

Planning: Work with your vet to decide what is the target weight. Choose a suitable food for your dog's needs, and then calculate the daily feeding amount.

Implement the feeding: It’s important that you measure out the food so, if you need to you can easily and accurately adjust it.

Regularly weigh your dog: A simple way to do this is weigh yourself, then weigh yourself while holding your dog then subtract the two numbers. If you have a larger breed or are unable to carry the dog, it is advised to get your dog to sit on some bathroom scales, or pop into your vets to use the scales in the waiting room!

Be patient – It’s not going to happen overnight but if you stick with it your dog will reach their target weight, and it will all be worth it with a happier healthy dog.

Maintain weight: Once you have reached target weight you need to make sure they stay there by choosing a suitable food for your dog's needs.

Remember: If your dog is on a diet, be careful not to spoil the good work with treats (especially table scraps), and make sure everyone knows what you are doing!
