How do I use CheckUp for Cats?
Before pouring the litter, please make sure the litter box is clean and empty. Pour all of the hydrophobic litter into the clean, empty litter box. Do not add the hydrophobic litter to regular litter. A thin layer of CheckUp litter is enough to collect a sample.
Allow your cat to urinate freely in their litter box. As the sand is a natural environment for cats to use, they should feel comfortable and at ease to urinate of the CheckUp litter.
Using the pipette, simply collect the suspended sample from the top of the sand.
Fill the vial with the sample to approximately ¾ capacity. There should be enough to submerge the squares on the testing strip fully.
Ensuring all 4 squares are submerged fully, dip the testing strip into the sample for 2 seconds. Place the cap onto the vial for further use.
Quickly place the diagnostic strip in the space provided on the reading card. It is extremely important to read the results according to the outline’s time frames, otherwise inaccurate results may occur.
Please note that the colours on the diagnostic strip will continually change – it may be easier to circle the result at the time specified to accurately recall each test result later.
If required, the sample can be kept for further use or given to your vet for further analysis. Simply close the vial tightly with the cap and place in the fridge. Refrigerated samples can be sent for further evaluation for up to 48 hours after the sample was collected.
If the test shows any positive results, or you suspect your pet to be suffering from any of the conditions stated (even if a test result is negative), a vet should be consulted immediately.
CheckUp is not designed to replace a visit to the veterinarian.
CheckUp should be used to monitor existing conditions and treatment plans as required by a vet, or to check in on your pet’s health in between annuals.
CheckUp is a detection tool, and does not provide a medication for a condition.
If someone has a positive reading on a test, or suspects their pet is suffering from any condition even if a test is negative, they should call their veterinarian immediately.
