The concept behind Gentle is simple. All their foods have a high meat content – essential for your dog’s good health.
First, they take some great quality ingredients and gently mix them together. They then add cold pressed oils, herbs, vegetables and other lovely healthy stuff.
Next, and this is a really important bit, they press them together for 1 second at a very low temperature.

Cold pressing is a fantastic way of preserving the nutritional integrity of all the ingredients in your dog’s food. This unique and gentle process creates a dog food where natural enzymes and vitamins – as well as fibre and molecular structures – are retained, keeping all their healthy goodness. Due to the preservation of the aromas and flavours of the natural ingredients cold pressed food is also naturally highly palatable.
Using only very low temperatures allows Gentle to create a complete, balanced dog food that’s as close to nature as possible. How much Gentle Cold Pressed Goat should I feed?
Adult dogs (2 year+) need around 1-1.2% of their body weight per day. Please note that this is a guide only and individual dogs may have different requirements. Depending on their activity levels some dogs will require more food. Puppies require 2.5% of their body weight per day. A supply of fresh drinking water should be available at all times for your dog. Every Gentle variety is suitable for all life stages, although Original is advised for puppies due to high meat content.
How to swap over to Gentle Cold Pressed food?
If you are making a change from extruded dry food to Gentle we recommend introducing Gentle over 7 days to make the change as smooth as possible. This is because the two foods break down very differently in dog’s stomach. Gentle Cold Pressed food absorbs water very easily and therefore breaks down much faster than the extruded food.
If you are changing your dog’s diet from raw to Gentle you can swap over immediately as the two diets are very similar.
How to store Gentle Cold Pressed dog food?
Gentle Cold Pressed has a shelf life of 6 months and needs to be stored in cool and dry conditions. Do not store in an airtight container. The food can sweat when denied air circulation which can then mean the food's shelf life is reduced and it can deteriorate much quicker. Food should not get wet, nor stored in humid areas. We recommend storing in a raised position and NOT on a solid floor or in direct sunlight, as this provides cooler storage with better air circulation.
