ENISYL-F for cats is a palatable oral paste that contains L-Lysine HCL.
L-Lysine supplementation can support your cat through infections with Feline Herpesvirus by competitively inhibiting Arginine, an amino acid that Herpesvirus-infected cells use to reproduce.
ENISYL-F is very tasty, so is easily accepted by most cats, and comes in a handy pump dispenser.
Active ingredient:
L-Lysine ........................................................... 250 mg/ml
Ingredients: Purified water, L-Lysine HCI, sorbitol, cod liver oil, xanthan gum, tuna flavor,
soya lecithin, silica aerogel, caramel color, potassium sorbate, sodium benzoate.
Oral use.
Kittens 1 ml twice per day, or as recommended by your veterinary surgeon.
Adult cats: 2 ml twice a day, or as recommended by your veterinary surgeon.
Each press of the dosing pump delivers 1 ml paste Enisyl-F (or 250 mg of L-Lysine).
ENISYL-F is extremely tasty and is easily accepted by most cats. It can be applied directly in the mouth, on the nose or on the paw where it can be licked off. Alternatively, you may add the product to your cat's food, if more convenient.
Seek advice from your veterinary surgeon prior to use.
ENISYL-F may be used at the first signs of herpes virus disease, in addition to conventional therapy, and for 1 to 2 weeks after the cat's return to normal. For chronic forms, it may be used as a permanent supplement or at the onset of signs. Administer 1-2 weeks before and after exposure to stressors that may cause reactivation of the virus (giving birth, lactation, changes in the home environment, steroid therapy etc).
It is estimated that at least 80% of all the cats in the world are infected with Feline Herpes Virus (FHV-1) which is a major cause of the most severe and widespread respiratory infection in cats, Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR).
Up to 80% of cats who contract FHV-1 remain lifelong carriers of this highly contagious virus and can pass it on to uninfected cats through viral shedding.
Reactivation of the virus may occur spontaneously throughout an infected cat’s lifetime, although it is often associated with stress.
FHV-1 presents a greater threat to kittens, in whom it causes severe respiratory and ocular symptoms. While mortality is generally low in adult cats, it can reach 30% in
kittens.
In adult cats, FHV-1 flare-ups are often hard to differentiate from the other two main feline infectious respiratory diseases, calicivirus and chlamydiosis.
Ask your veterinary surgeon for more information on feline infectious respiratory diseases.
