Dasuquin is an advanced joint health supplement for dogs that feeds and strengthens the cartilage in their joints, helping them move more easily and comfortably.  It protects the dog’s joints by reducing levels of inflammation, blocking the enzymes that break down cartilage and feeding it key nutrients that help it stay healthier.

There are three key ingredients that make Dasuquin so effective.

  • Avocado-Soybean Unsaponifiables (ASU)
A potent combination of natural extracts from avocado and soybeans that help improve joint function and comfort of movement. ASU also reduces inflammation in cartilage cells.
  • Glucosamine HCl
Used to form vital components of the cartilage structure that provides a smoother surface for easier movement.
  • Chondroitin Sulphate
A key component of cartilage that helps keep it strong and blocks the enzymes responsible for cartilage breakdown

Dasuquin also has a natural tasty flavour to make it palatable and encourage compliance.

Dasuquin is the only joint supplement on the market to include the effective formulation of ASU (NMX1000®), Glucosamine HCl (FCHG49®) and low molecular weight Chondroitin Sulphate (TRH122®) and has over 50 published articles demonstrating safety, bioavailability and efficacy1.

Initial loading programme:
Feed daily for 4-6 weeks, or as recommended by your veterinary surgeon.

If your dog is currently on an alternative joint supplement and you are transitioning to Dasuquin, it is still advised to start with the initial recommended loading dose. This is so that the combination of ASU, FCHG49® glucosamine hydrochloride and TRH122® low molecular weight chondroitin sulphate can reach peak levels in the joint within the shortest time frame possible to enable your dog to receive the maximum benefit from Dasuquin.

Maintenance programme:
After the initial loading period, the number of tablets per day may be reduced by half.

Joints may benefit from additional support for many reasons such as degenerative joint disease (e.g. arthritis), following trauma (e.g. fractures, ligament damage), conformational abnormalities (e.g. hip/elbow dysplasia). Any process that causes abnormal forces to be placed on the joints can lead to degeneration of the joint cartilage, changes in the bone surfaces and inflammation within and around the joint.

What is ASU, and how does it work?

ASU stands for Avocado-Soybean Unsaponifiables. ASU is a specific fraction of oil that is extracted from soybeans and avocados. Studies have shown that ASU can increase growth and repair factors in joints, helping to stimulate the cells responsible for producing new cartilage at the same time as reducing the production of enzymes that cause the breakdown of existing cartilage. ASU has also been shown to inhibit several of the chemical messengers that play a key role in the inflammation cycle.

What role do the glucosamine hydrochloride and low molecular weight chondroitin sulphate play?

Glucosamine and chondroitin are essential components required for the building blocks of cartilage known as proteoglycans. In older animals, or in joints that have been subjected to trauma or disease, the levels of proteoglycans are reduced which results in degeneration of the cartilage. Studies have shown that ASU works synergistically with FCHG49® glucosamine hydrochloride and TRH122® low molecular weight chondroitin sulphate helping to reduce cartilage destruction and inflammation in joints whilst simultaneously supporting new cartilage growth.
